Lisa grew up on a dairy farm in St. Michael, MN. She graduated from Rasmussen College in 1991 and from Kaplan University in 2004. From a young age, Lisa had an interest in investments and financial planning and was an avid reader on those subjects while in high school.
Lisa has had a career that has acquainted her with many areas of finances that help her today in servicing clients. While working for five years in a corporate HR department, she gained valuable knowledge about compensation and benefit programs including 401k and other defined contribution plan and executive compensation programs. Subsequently, she worked for three years with a non-profit organization which gave her insights on how such organizations raise their funds and what motivates people to give away their hard-earned money. Lisa decided to fully pursue her financial planning interest in 1998 when she joined a large regional brokerage firm, and subsequently a major national brokerage firm. She joined New Era Financial Group, Inc. and Shad Ketcher in 2010.
Lisa became very aware during her early career that women were often uncomfortable talking about 401k’s, planning for their future, or giving their money to non-profits tax efficiently. As a result, she was inspired to become a “down to earth” voice for women in their financial planning. Lisa strives to explain financial planning and investing in easy to understand terms in an effort to make her clients comfortable and confident in making the choice necessary in achieving their goals. Lisa believes that every person needs competent financial planning advice at every stage of life, recognizing that life changes occur frequently.
Lisa enjoys spending time with her 3 children. They enjoy fishing and gardening as a family. When finding the opportunity, she loves to sit down with a good book or share a cup of cocoa with a good friend.
